Jaki Graham is a unique vocalist and one of the most appealing Soul entertainers to emerge from the UK. Born in Birmingham on the 15th September 1956, Jaki’s childhood was far from easy. Her parents came from Jamaica, moving to England in the fifties, to a small rented bedsit in Handsworth, Birmingham.

His father was a diplomat and he had an impact on Paul’s education. He taught him 5 languages. Paul’s music talent probably came from his mother Sonia who was a singer. In 1975 Paul finally settled down in Italy, where after three years he graduated. In 1978 he moved to London where he created several bands. He came back to Italy in 1981. In Rome he met a DJ that agreed to produce the song Paul wrote with his friend Pierluigi Giombini who composed the music. This song was entitled Masterpiece. All of you who know Gazebo’s creations also know this song very well. This one became his first hit and immediate success not only in Europe but also over the world.

Her mother was a missionary and her father a deacon, and her parents had once instructed: You sing gospel or nothing at all. Between stints of teaching she found time to take part regularly in talent contests. She was eventually banned from entering several competitions for winning so often and turned professional by starting out on the local club scene in the mid 1980s.
